 \n\nAbout the Artists\n\nDaid Roy (born 1986\, Los Angeles\, CA\; lives in
  Los Angeles\, CA) is a conceptual artist whose work circulates through sc
 ulpture\, photography\, painting\, sound\, performance\, and technology. I
 n 2016\, Roy conceived of BLACK NASA\, now commonly known as Black NASA. T
 he space agency is a reification of the commitment to the use of rockets f
 or peaceful purposes only. The artist is most excited to share their rocke
 try expertise and the Black NASA ethos through teaching and youth mentorsh
 ip. Black NASA’s mission is to conduct rocket science through The 7 Nobl
 e Ideals of Human Space Exploration: Challenge\, Creativity\, Courage\, In
 genuity\, Peace\, Unity\, and Discovery. Daid received their BFA from Otis
  College of Art and Design (2013) and an MFA in sculpture from Yale Univer
 sity (2020). They are a Los Angeles Nomadic Division Mohn grantee (2024) a
 nd Yucca Valley Materials Lab Experimental Residency awardee (2025). Roy h
 as lectured and taught youth workshops at the University of California\, L
 os Angeles\; Forge Project in Taghkanic\, New York\; and in community spac
 es throughout Los Angeles.\n\nAssemble envisions a world where learning an
 d creating are transformative experiences and where all people are equippe
 d with the tools to make a difference\, together. We use learning as a too
 l to create a more equitable future for youth and learners in the Pittsbur
 gh region and beyond. We build confidence through making\; connect learner

  that has strayed from the traditional “club” spaces. Cecilia has been
  heavily active in anti-displacement advocacy beginning with organizing re
 nt strikes with undocumented families in LA and currently working to build
  the tenant movement in Portland. Cecilia became a co-founding member of P
 eople’s City Council and then Don’t Evict Portland\, and the experienc
 es she’s had behind the decks and in organizing spaces have begun to mel
 d as she has explored bringing music into the organizing space and weaponi
 zing audio for disruption\n\nNick Boyd:\nBetween his own DJing and his wor
 k behind Sorry Records\, Nick Boyd has become something of a staple of the
  New York’s club circuit. Behind the boards\, he pairs old-school house 
 and techno sounds with a more new-school kitchen-sink mentality. He plays 
 with reverence but without idolatry\, paying homage to his favorite scenes
  without tying himself to them.\n\nA hopeless devotee and passionate fixtu
 re of the New York City rave underground\, Nick is the founder of beloved 
 Brooklyn based DIY label Sorry Records which has been putting out records 
 from a wide variety of stand out folks from the American dance music under

  across mc chris when Adult Swim premiered September 2nd\, 2001. The first
  album was free for download on a website most OG fans found in the credit
 s of a random Sealab episode. After five years of working for Cartoon Netw
 ork during the day and making mc chris music at night\, mc took a chance\,
  quit his job and headed out on the road. He found packed venues filled wi
 th nerdy kids who knew all the words. Twenty years later he’s still at i
 t\, playing the same venues\, singing along with the same kids\, who are n
 ow in their thirties. The only difference is now they’ve either brought 
 their kids or given themselves a much-needed night off. This year mc celeb
 rates 25 years in existence and a new Marvel inspired album\, King in Blac
 k.\n\nmc chris is most widely known for his reoccurring character MC P Pan
 ts on Adult Swim’s Aqua Teen Hunger Force where he was also an animator 
 and writer. He’s been featured in the Aqua Teen movie\, the video game a
 nd most recently on a series of You Tube videos called Aqua Donk Side Piec
 es. He’s also starred on several Adult Swim series including The Brak Sh
 ow and Sealab 2021. A pioneer of the hip hop subgenre Nerdcore\, mc chris 
 has worked with Talib Kweli\, Andrew WK\, and Donald Glover. His fans incl

 \n\ntrē: I began the series as research in disrupting abstraction when so
 und remains a sound\, when instances of playing do not instantly signify b
 ody\, place\, time. To improvise as insistence on time and its unmaking\, 
 to play as displacement—beyond this\, what other forms of movement are p
 ossible (as body and not\, in fractals or retraced) as language is morphed
  and submerged within sound? What does the presence of a voice convey or w
 hat can it erase? \n\nJenna: I didn’t know it’d be so hard to be a sou
 nd and not just words on a page. These are words said by an interlocutor o
 f Jota Mombaça in her art film Waterwill. As a writer\, I am an improvise
 r. As an improviser\, I started increasingly going to experimental sound s
 hows\, where I’d see a performer throw lozenges (acorns) at her violin\,
  or watch a man who was really a busted radio\, or listen to trē sound no
 t unlike themself—traces of sound happening to a body // a body tracing 
 space. Listening\, I felt most distinctly that language was an instrument\
 , to be played and not just played with. I looked toward polyphony\, free 
 jazz\, and noise for ways of organizing language\, the way sound organizes
  itself\, the way sound can organize the self. Because\, as Varun says\, 
 “Every moment is polyphonic.” Every I is murmuration\, words overlappi
 ng quiet\, quiet lapping silence (think: running\, think: water). I’m tr
 ying to hold it all open without coming only apart.\n\nThis program is fol
 lowed by a public reception with complimentary hors d’oeuvres and drinks
  for all attendees and artists. \n\nAbout the Artists:\n\n7D is a multi-in
 strumentalist composer\, performer\, and recording artist living and worki
 ng in Pittsburgh\, PA. Their body of work moves across experimental music\
 , noise\, film composition\, sculptural performance\, and poetry.\n\ntrē 
 seguritan abalos (tree) is a sound improviser and child of Filipino immigr
 ants from San Jose\, CA\, who often plays with flutes\, found objects\, an
 d field recordings. As a collaborator trē’s playing ranges from live so

 from studies with devon osamu tipp\, Susie Ibarra\, and Alberto Almarza\, 
 their sound merges classical techniques with deep listening and free impro

 ces for JADED\, Anthropology of Motherhood\, and Trust Visual Arts\; exper

 bass performance at Carnegie Mellon University\, studying under Micah Howa
 rd. Born in Cincinnati\, OH\, and reared in Columbus\, OH\, Drew began pla
 ying double bass in fourth grade in elementary school. By the sixth grade\
 , they also joined the Columbus Symphony Youth Orchestra and by eighth gra
 de\, the Urban Strings Columbus Youth Orchestra until they finished high s
 chool. Drew spent a summer abroad and multiple summers at Interlochen Cent
 er for the Arts. They attended the Cleveland Institute of Music for their 
 undergraduate education\, studying under Derek Zadinsky. Drew is a passion
 ate electric bass player as well\, collaborating with many different music
 ians. They have worked in free improv\, jazz\, funk\, gospel\, and psyched
 elic rock.\n\nViii Dorsey is an interdisciplinary audio-visual collage art
 ist and medicinal sound (folk) scientist from Pittsburgh\, PA\, with an ec
 lectic style and experimental approach. Getting her start in poetry\, spee
 ch-language pathology\, holistic wellness\, and sound-healing and frequenc
 y therapy\, Viii offers a unique perspective fusing together multi-layered
  combinations of sounds\, symbols\, and concepts to convey the abstract re
 flections and ponderings of the heart with fluidity and versatility. Viii 
 weaves a multitude of mediums into conversation with each other through an
  Afro-futuristic lens on time and space. Her creative practice often cente

 ek for ourselves.\n\nDade Lemanski is a writer\, teacher\, and nightlife w
 orker. Their writing on whiteness\, Jewishness\, Appalachia\, and desire h

 rnal of Yiddish Studies\, as well as in the anthologies A Rainbow Thread: 
 An Anthology of Queer Jewish Texts from the First Century to 1969 and Ther

 hists. They write the newsletter SINKHOLE//GLORYHOLE and more recently hav
 e collaborated with friends and sound artists around Pittsburgh. Their fir
 st book\, Full Life Full Agonies\, is forthcoming from the University Pres
 s of Kentucky.\n\nJenna Peng writes poetry and criticism\, often both at t
 he same time. Her writing circles otherness\, closeness\, and aloneness\, 
 compelled/repelled by the kinds of things we do to/for each other. She ind
 ulges in writing about writing\, thinking about thinking\, not knowing abo
 ut knowing\, and is in search of a Center for Stray Thought. As part of th
 e collective Jenn E. Zhang (with other half Elina Zhang)\, she co-curates
