 \n\nAbout the Artists\n\nDaid Roy (born 1986\, Los Angeles\, CA\; lives in
  Los Angeles\, CA) is a conceptual artist whose work circulates through sc
 ulpture\, photography\, painting\, sound\, performance\, and technology. I
 n 2016\, Roy conceived of BLACK NASA\, now commonly known as Black NASA. T
 he space agency is a reification of the commitment to the use of rockets f
 or peaceful purposes only. The artist is most excited to share their rocke
 try expertise and the Black NASA ethos through teaching and youth mentorsh
 ip. Black NASA’s mission is to conduct rocket science through The 7 Nobl
 e Ideals of Human Space Exploration: Challenge\, Creativity\, Courage\, In
 genuity\, Peace\, Unity\, and Discovery. Daid received their BFA from Otis
  College of Art and Design (2013) and an MFA in sculpture from Yale Univer
 sity (2020). They are a Los Angeles Nomadic Division Mohn grantee (2024) a
 nd Yucca Valley Materials Lab Experimental Residency awardee (2025). Roy h
 as lectured and taught youth workshops at the University of California\, L
 os Angeles\; Forge Project in Taghkanic\, New York\; and in community spac

 d creating are transformative experiences and where all people are equippe
