ABOUT OUR SPECIAL GUEST:
Blacklisted's initial journey into production was at age 17 when a friend sat him down in front of a Roland MC 505 and gave him a crash course in making beats. Since then he's always had a soft spot for production via hardware, while still embracing newer software recording and production methods. Influenced by both electronic and hip-hop production, his sound can range from a cold Dystopian mechanical sound to a warmer more organic sample based aesthetic. After getting his feet wet with production Blacklisted set his sights on DJing and turntablism, drawn in by the use of the turntable as an instrument and it's indelible influence in the sounds of hip-hop. The exploration of music from the past and present as a DJ has also had a profound influence on his sound.
