This month's special guest is Pete Butta
The Gold Standard puts Pittsburgh's most technically skilled and well rounded DJs in the booth once a month and puts an emphasis on the more techical side of the craft.
Pete Butta is one of Pittsburgh's most in demand DJs. Pete got his start in State College, Pennsylvania where a then 16-year old Peter Brockman found inspiration from DJs on college radio and New York City's Hot 97 during family trips. Following a love of rock, pop and electronic music, Pete fell in love with Hip-Hop after hearing A Tribe Called Quest's "Award Tour". High School and college meant working the nightlife circuit at Penn State as opposed to indulging with peers. The search for larger parties and culture lead Pete to Pittsburgh. Known for forward selections and seamless mixing, he quickly became a fixture at the cities best venues . He holds residencies at Savoy, Perle, and The Goldmark; As Friday resident, Pete has carried The Flats on Carson to forefront of Pittsburgh Nightlife - named "Best New Bar" by The Pittsburgh City Paper. With a reputation that carries beyond the city boundaries, recent travel includes New York's Webster Hall & Kinfolk 94 , Miami's Sidebar, Atlantic City's Caesars Palace, Silk City - the "Nexus of Philly's DJ scene", as well as a nationwide tour with Mac Miller. Whether DJ'ing alongside stars like Wiz Khalifa & Sean Paul, handpicked by clients like Nike, Dior & Lexus or playing private parties for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pete Butta knows how to entertain any crowd.
