Each month, The Weeping Glass in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania's Allentown neighborhood will open it's doors at 11pm for a limited number of ticket holders to join us for The Midnight Death Parlor. Each uniquely depressing event welcomes a performance artist and their tales of tragedy and murder. At midnight, the candles are lit, the lights go out, and our story begins.
December's Death Parlor welcomes The Mad Muse's one woman gut wrenching tale of Stella, a story about the death bed confession letter that shook a small town in the mountains of Pennsylvania. "God forgive me, in the attic you will find a trunk with the bodies of my babies"....
Our story is entirely TRUE, however the Mad Muse will step into the shoes of the woman behind the murders to tell the reimagined tale from the point of view of Stella, herself, in an atmosphere that will place you in the tiny attic full of big secrets.
Ticket includes after-hours access to The Weeping Glass, the intimate midnight performance of Stella in the Death Parlor, cocktails and wine curated to the evening's event, dark delicacies from local purveyors, and exclusive ephemera created just for the event, including a copy of Stella's death bed confessional letter. Dress to depress, funeral attire is always welcome.
The Mad Muse blends classical theatre, MadPoetry, and spoken word, to address basic truths of humanity. Through performances in traditional and non traditional spaces, she reaches audiences that would normally not see the power of theatre as a force of expression and change.
