We are so excited to announce the second installment of the Beyond Microtonal Music Festival! This season's festival will focus on the theme of “Cultural Roots/Cultural Intersections” and will explore compelling microtonal music that travels across cultural boundaries. Through three days of concerts and symposia, Beyond will address the nature and current status of “microtonal music” and especially its relationship to World Music as well as the diversity within our own community.

The first concert of the festival will feature an all star line-up:
NYC chamber group loadbang, clarinettist David Krakauer, famed oud-player Rahim Alhaj with percussionist Issa Malluf, and the Beyond Festival Orchestra conducted by Gil Rose.

Works by Georg Friedrich Haas („... e finisci già?“), Mathew Rosenblum (Lament/Witches’ Sabbath), Taylor Brook (Tarantism), Rahim Alhaj (Letters from Iraq, movement 7), and Zhong Juncheng (Looking Back Luo Yue)

Co-presented by The Andy Warhol Museum Sound Series
