Jason Calhoun is a musician and sound artist currently living in South Hadley, Massachusetts. He has played in various bands and projects including Hour, ylayali, Paper Armies, and many others; his current solo work is a continuation of his project, naps. This work is primarily concerned with the small and humble, with a diary-like approach to constructing pieces. Albums are crafted with a sense of the whole work fully in mind; a way to privately reflect over a longer period. The use of repetition, field recording and simple synth tones are used to achieve a quiet and personal aesthetic. His music has been released on Patient Sounds Intl., Lily Tapes & Discs, and Bridgetown Records, among others. Jason studied violin, sound recording, and philosophy at Ithaca College.
