Join Q4T to close out their 2019 industry night run with a very special ITW. This month we are joined by recent Cleveland to Pittsburgh import, Mx. Silkman (IN TRAINING, PGH). Don’t miss your chance to pop through and connect with queer creatives (not to mention grab some of their wares, creations, and crafts) at The Queer Craft Market in the Gym from 5p-10p.

Sweet deal on industry bites and eats run from 9p-12a from Whitfield Bar.

ABOUT YOUR SELECTOR:

Mx. Silkman (IN TRAINING, Pittsburgh)

Mx. Silkman is a co-founder and resident of the queer anarchist electronic music collective IN TRAINING. Her DJ sets feature deep waves of acidic paranoia-tinged psychedelia, cosmic angst-driven dub and sparse execution of skeletal forms within post-industrial dance music.

In addition to her role as a selector, she also produces off-kilter technomusic as Auton, a project with releases out on Jacktone and Tram Planet Records, aimed at the multimedia exploration of insurrectionary moments of rupture against the Leviathanic construct of end-times capitalist futurism.

She has also recently started her own imprint for publishing music and text under the name Seith Communiti, which allows her to produce small run cassettes, zines and other printed matter. She additionally maintains an online space of the same name, which is an intentional gesture towards decoupling from the social media opinion market while maintaining a space for writing critical of transactional capitalist models within dance music, queer subculture and social interaction.

About THE QUEER CRAFT MARKET:

The Queer Craft Market has been a community event for many years and has been taken on by several organizations. In 2016-2018 the market was organized by Assemble, a local non-profit that supports STEM and maker education. In 2019, Workshop PGH DIY school began organizing the event to encourage expansion and include more makers + community organizations. The event is a staple of the Pittsburgh queer community and is inclusive to all.

They welcome:

-Artists
-Makers
-Zine makers
-Creatives
-Community Organizers
-DIY schools & organizations that support queer artists, handmade, & creatives
