It was one year ago that we started BRUTALISM. We started in the shadow of the Covid spike that had closed Belvs down at the end of 2021. Our event was the first event of the 2022 year. And so many have been with us this whole weird long journey.

We’ve learned a lot from each other.

We wanted to bring something special to the steel bones of this town. We wanted to play things that you’ll never hear anywhere else. We wanted to forge a home for a lot of the resurgence of post punk and the other dark and dancey things that are being germinated and grown all over the world now. And also the classic hits that have spent too long in the recesses and the shadows.

We wanted to make something truly special and you all answered. It means the world to us.

We are just two friends trying to make something that brings you all together also. And it worked. Like a weird cold dark magic spell. You all took part in this sorcery.

We thank you. Expect big things that night as we play all your favorites from the year past and the year ahead.
