Get ready for a beautiful Fall evening of Roots Reggae and Deep Dubwise by the Allegheny River. Kinky P will keep the fires blazing powered by Sub Sanctuary. Opening sets from resident selectors Rankin’ Franklin, High Pressure and Kev Reason.

Patricia Reyes aka Kinky P is a strictly vinyl Reggae DJ artist, originally from Baja California Mexico, where she grew up to the sounds of artists like Bob Marley, Inner Circle, UB40, and El General. It wasn’t until she came to Chicago where she became completely hooked by the music of the Dub Masters- King Tubby and Lee Scratch Perry. Kinky P was quickly immersed in the teachings of Chicago Reggae DJ’s like Rik Shaw and crews like Moa Anbessa Sound. These sound enthusiasts and vinyl collectors played Roots, Ska, Rub A Dub, Calypso and Soca; their music helped her deepened her love for the music and culture.

Being very well musically traveled she’s picked up various styles of Jamaican music. From Steppas to 90’s Dancehall to 70’s Roots, Kinky P has a wicked all vinyl selection.

Since her debut in 2012, Kinky P has been running dances in places like CO, WI, NY, OH, San Diego, Los Angeles in the US; CDMX, Tijuana, Mexicali, Ensenada, Veracruz, and Teotihuacan pyramids in Mexico. She has also played in Costa Rica, and most recently Malta!

Kinky P has shared the stage with artists like Warrior King, Papa Michigan, Mr. Williamz, Derrick Parker, Horace Martin, Ranking Joe, Carlton Livingston, DreadMar-I, Mungo's HiFi, Eva Lazarus, King YellowMan, Sister Nancy, Sister Carol, OBF SoundSystem, Sr.Wilson, Von D, KrakInDub, Junior Dread, Naraam-Jahtari, Iration Steppas, Yaadcore, Alika, and more.

Kinky P is also co-owner, visual artist, curator and selector of Beatdown Soundsystem, a handmade, traditional Jamaican style sound system from Chicago.
