The Weeping Glass is opening our backrooms and welcoming the weird and wonderful folks who wander through our doors to the return of odd and curious workshops and lectures within these walls.
Our taxidermy workshop series this May is hosted by Katie Innamorato of Afterlife Anatomy is a modern-day Anubis, aiming to preserve and honor the deceased in their afterlife. She has been professionally trained and competes at state and world level championships. She has teamed up with The Field Museum for an educational video, taught classes for the New York state Department of Environmental Conservation, and worked with the SVA in NYC for some classes as well. She has been featured on the TV show "Oddities," displayed pieces at La Luz de Jesus Gallery in Los Angeles, profiled in the book Taxidermy Art, along with coauthoring her own book, "STUFFED ANIMALS."
All specimen deaths are not related to the artwork. Everything is long deceased beforehand. Animals are sourced from roadkill when legal, abatement and nuisance removal, donations, pet store and breeder casualties, and scraps from other taxidermists which would often be thrown away.
