Russian-born, London-based musician and vocalist with a self-released a catalog of bizarre yet beguiling records. If there's a person behind this music, she's hard to make out. After all, Copeland / Lolina's latest album opens with the refrain "You're such an amazing liar" - fitting for her solo and prior mystique under the Hype Williams moniker: With its shimmering synths and acrobatic vocal lines, Copeland's releases come off like a punk assertion to be whatever it is you want to be, even if that requires concealing the truth.
