CHINO AMOBI – Co-founder of NON, the politically minded collective and record label dedicated to music being created by African artists and the diaspora, Chino Amobi was born in Alabama to Nigerian immigrant parents. He makes distorted, noise-laden electronic music that frequently references and subverts pop culture. NON has garnered attention for their web-savvy approach, experimental sound, international membership and outspoken politics have found an audience, giving a voice to like-minded children of the diaspora around the globe.
RABIT – Houston-based producer emerged in 2014 with his debut album Communion on Tri Angle Records, with a dark and depth-laden catalog “inspired by issues relating to sexuality, gender, ownership of our natural bodies”. 2 years later he’s sharing the decks alongside Bjork, who is an avid supporter of the label and artists who continually push the boundaries of club music’s formal and social qualities.
SETH GRAHAM – Skitteringly combining the powers of Wagner and Robert Ashley, the Orange Milk co-proprietor’s ongoing audio experiments have made extensive use of chopped vocal minutia. Stacks of chants overlapping his characteristic non-structure, as if Graham was a somber Daffy Duck playing a grand piano full of appliances and tied up ecclesiastic-types. Imbued with a persistent sense of emotion and drama, sweeping awareness around samples like a cape as each sound materializes and disappears.
