In dialogue with the exhibition’s concluding chapter, ‘grand illusion,’ the program brings into view the emotional and psychic architectures that persist long after modernism’s ideals have been dismantled through decades of scholarship and material failure.
The afternoon begins with a contextualizing talk by exhibition co-curator Brittany Reilly, drawing on Outlines’s engagement with modernist architecture and design history, followed by a lecture and time-based projects in which artists push their primary mediums into different formats from their norm, including performance and sound collage.
