Brakhage’s three 1971 films — Eyes, Deus Ex, and The Act of Seeing With One's Own Eyes — take a harrowing, fly-on-the-wall look at three Pittsburgh institutions we all find ourselves coming into contact with at some point: the police, the hospital, and the morgue.
Join us as we present these landmark works of Pittsburgh film history in their original 16mm format. We’ll also be showing Brakhage’s film documenting his wife giving birth, Window Water Baby Moving, with a live score by Trē Seguritan Abalos.
At the legendary Melwood Screening Room, 477 Melwood Ave. Tickets $12 for the general public. FREE for PSI members!
Doors at 6:30, show starts at 7. Total runtime of films: approximately 110 minutes.
