Deep Underground Beats (D.U.B.) was a landmark all-ages underground dance event held on Sunday, August 25th, 1996 at 168, located at 522 3rd Ave downtown Pittsburgh (between Grant and Ross St., next to Chinatown Inn). The event ran from 9 PM to 4 AM and featured two floors of DJs and 12 performers total.

Main Floor DJs included:
- Swamp (U.S. DMC Champ, Cleveland, OH) — baddest DJ on two turntables
- Jason Patrick (Modern Music, Baltimore, MD)
- DJ Kevim & Ruffian (Acid Jazz, PGH, PA — Hard Tech-house/Jungle, Protokulture Records/168)

- Smoov (Protokulture Records/168) — Funky Breaks

2nd Floor DJs included:
