Freee

Freee was a spring festival of light and sound held in Pittsburgh, PA on April 8, 1995, starting at 10pm and running until late. Brought to you by UnDerGrOund Inc. (UDG), with support from Atari, the event featured laser beams by Ray-Gun, visual stimulation FX by Digital Sketches, and flyer design by Subluminal Designs. The lineup included Sean & Kasi (residents at Knoxville's largest club, The Underground, known for their 4-turntable mixing and scratching blending house and electro), Dieselboy (signed to Technical Itch UK, a rising name in the US jungle/drum and bass scene), Sho (a fast-rising talent in the midwest acid/tripped-out techno scene), Sine (resident at Cloud 9, Pittsburgh's hottest club, spinning funky house), Sleepy C (DJ, producer, and label owner running the Ohio rave scene with trance-house and trip-hop), Bit (Orbitrecords artist blending smooth house and digi-funk), Dust (an up-and-coming house DJ), and Ruffian ("the darkside magician" bringing dark jungle vibes, UnDerGrOund Inc.'s main man at the wheels). Tickets were $12 in advance and $15 at the door, available at Slacker, Collector's 12'', and Future Sounds in Pittsburgh, and Deep Records in Cleveland. The event promoted an alcohol-free, drug-free, spray-can/marker-free, and attitude-free environment.
