I ♥ Techno

I ♥ Techno brings together some of Detroit's most influential techno artists alongside Pittsburgh's underground scene. Headlining is DBX (aka Daniel Bell) of Seventh City Records, one of the earliest recording artists on Windsor, Canada's +8 Records who collaborated with Richie Hawtin (Plastikman) and later founded Accelerate Records, known for his trademark minimal productions. Also performing is Anthony 'Shake' Shakir (Seventh City, Frictional Recordings - Detroit), a Detroit house and techno pioneer who has recorded for KMS, Metroplex, and Peacefrog, and co-founded Frictional Recordings in 1993. Shawn Rudiman (aka TR-Generation) performs live, representing Seventh City, X-Trax, and Technoir Records. Rounding out the lineup are Inspector 901 (f.e.s.p., Technoir, Drool), Ratana (f.e.s.p., Technoir), and Jwan (Technoir). A lounge area on the deck (weather permitting) will feature sets from Alexander, Enrique, Bricks, Plastique, & Bakudan. This event is presented through the joint efforts of f.e.s.p., Aurora Productions, Seventh City Records, Frictional Recordings, and Technoir Records (Pittsburgh's newest underground dance label). Tickets are $12 for 21+ (proper ID required) and $14 for under 21. No backpacks, markers, illicit substances, or bad attitudes.
