Film Pittsburgh’s JFilm Festival, Pittsburgh’s largest Jewish cultural event, runs April 24 – May 4, both in person and online! The festival will showcase 18 engaging and thought-provoking, Jewish-themed, independent feature films from around the world that you won’t see anywhere else. Highlights include opening night’s Pittsburgh premiere of Midas Man, a musical biopic that explores the life of Brian Epstein, the ‘fifth Beatle’ which will be preceded by a Beatles-themed cocktail party; and the films Charles Grodin: Rebel with a Cause about Pittsburgh’s own comedian actor; Sabbath Queen, which chronicles a trailblazing spiritual leader challenging the customs of his Orthodox Jewish faith while developing his drag queen persona; Yaniv, an absurd, madcap comedy where a teacher turns to the underground world of “Jewish blackjack” to fund the high school musical.
