Pittsburgh Sound Preserve returns for First Friday on July 3rd at Telephone (5120 Penn Ave, Pittsburgh, PA) from 7–10 PM. This community-oriented sound event features an opening set from a diverse lineup: Mai Khoi (Vietnamese experimental vocalist and activist), Mark Micchelli (Pittsburgh-based improviser and composer), Eli Namay, and Jason Washington Jr. Attendees are encouraged to bring an instrument or just bring themselves — the spirit of the event is open, participatory, and community-driven. Pittsburgh Sound Preserve is a project dedicated to documenting and celebrating adventurous, experimental, and improvised music in Pittsburgh.
