Psychotronic Slackrave

Psychotronic Slackrave took place on Friday, December 13, 1991, at the West View Fireman’s Building near West View Plaza. Billed as one of the first raves in Pittsburgh, it featured local legend DJ Deadly Buda and UK guest DJ Controlled Weirdness, who brought over early rave vinyl from the London scene. The night promised insane techno-electro thrills, Hydroponic MCs, and installations by the Flaming Red Out-of-Control Sisters.

This private party drew an estimated 800-1000 attendees and is cited in early accounts of the American rave movement.
