Ghanaian Music Legend Gyedu-Blay Ambolley Makes Pittsburgh Debut at Tech 25
Pittonkatonk and Secret Planet present legendary Ghanaian musician Gyedu-Blay Ambolley live at Tech 25 on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, for his first-ever U.S. performance.
A pioneering figure in Ghanaian music, Ambolley is widely known for developing his signature Simigwa sound, blending highlife, Afrobeat, funk, jazz, and traditional Ghanaian rhythms. Backed by an eight-piece band from Ghana, Ambolley will perform his landmark 1975 debut album in its entirety.
The evening will also include a Tech 25 Open House from 6:00–8:00 PM, giving guests an opportunity to explore Tech 25's Mt. Oliver facility and learn more about its music, production, and workforce training programs.
