From the early career stages in an Amsterdam attic studio to being called “a breath of fresh air”, “producers to watch”, and “future superstar DJs”, the importance of commitment and patience is once again underlined by this Dutch duo.

Even by the standards of the Netherlands’ rich and plentiful dance music production line,
the rapid rise of ANOTR is a story that could run and run. Still in their twenties,
Amsterdam duo Jesse van der Heijden and Oguzhan Guney are all about “energetic, hard
hitting, straight to the point techy-kind-of house.”

ANOTR initially began making ripples across Europe by chiselling out deep grooves with an ear for a sample. Playing the waiting game in anticipation of their breakthrough moment, it was when they announced themselves to Armada Music, who in turn put them onto no less an imprint that the Defected offshoot DFTD, that the two from the Low Countries suddenly saw their stock rising high.

The years since have seen ANOTR rise to become premier tastemakers in the thriving European minimal tech-house scene through their record label and party series, No Art. After achieving widespread attention from ANOTR’s own 2018 hit release “Let Me Tell You”, the label has become a platform to accelerate the explosion of artists like Chris Stussy, Dimmish, Toman, James Dexter, Rossi., and others.

Their No Art parties also push other emerging artists to the forefront through events combining live performance art, modern art, and visuals with extended sets from the label’s stellar roster. The party series recently culminated in the highly publicized party “No Art at the Church”, a sold-out extravaganza of hypermodern production set against the ancient beauty of a 15th century church based in Amsterdam’s city center.

No Art’s pairing of bouncy, uptempo house with cutting edge visual art felt like a perfect parallel to Forge’s mission, so we are thrilled to bring ANOTR’s Amsterdam sound to our Pittsburgh party series.

“As long as the music feels right, we make it.” -ANOTR

In the era when America's Rust Belt got its name, factory workers labored on a 12-hour day or night shift for two weeks straight. To switch shifts, one group would have to work 24-hours straight and cover the labor gap. This grueling shift became known as the LongTurn.

Longturn Music was founded to give people with day jobs a space to spend their second shift. No bottle service, no passwords, just a dance floor filled with good people and good music.

Come early, stay late, dance hard.
